Congratulations go to the 2017 graduates of the Methodist Hospital Medical Laboratory Science (MLS) Program. Eight post-baccalaureate students earned their MLS Program Certificate from Methodist Hospital on May 5. All of the MLS Program graduates passed their national Board of Certification exam through the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP). Seven of the graduates will be working in a hospital clinical lab in the Omaha metropolitan area, and the eighth graduate will be working in California.
Methodist is a corporate sponsor of Omaha's Head for the Cure, a 5K Run/Walk at Lewis & Clark Landing on July 29. Proceeds will help benefit Leap-for-a-Cure, a grass-roots effort to improve awareness, education, and treatment of brain cancer in the Omaha community and especially at Methodist Estabrook Cancer Center.

Applications are being accepted for the MHS Academy programs offered by Nebraska Methodist College, an affiliate of Methodist Health System. These tuition-sponsored NMC degree and certificate programs are open to MHS employees who meet specific eligibility criteria, including working a specified number of hours per week while enrolled in the program and continuation of MHS employment for a specified number of years following graduation.
Nebraska Methodist College (NMC) Professional Development will begin using a new registration system on May 30. All users will need to create new accounts in this system by July 31. In addition, be sure to save or print continuing education certificates to ensure you are prepared in the event you would have your license audited.
