Outlook's Address Book "Advanced Search" Replaces ERNIE's Departmental Directory
The new mhsintranet, which went live on January 8, incorporates a wide variety of announcements, quick links, forms, policies, system shortcuts, HR material, learning resources and improved technology to bring enhanced tools and information to MHS employees.
One of the changes listed in the January 2014 go-live announcement that has spurred numerous questions from employees is this one:
- The Methodist Departmental Directory will not be available on mhsintranet.
Here is an easy way to do a departmental directory search using Outlook:
As a resource in place of the Department Directory that was previously on ERNIE, search for a department using the “Address Book/Advanced Find” feature in Outlook as follows:
From Outlook, open the Address Book Tool.
Click on the "Advanced Find" link shown below:
Enter a Department name to find, and as shown below with Human Resources:
Search the resulting list for either a repeat listing in the Business Phone
column (often the department’s main number), or look for the Title of someone who may be able to assist you (such as Receptionist or Secretary.)
