Helping Patients Live, Breathe with COPD

Published: Aug. 3, 2015

During Omaha’s cold November days last year, Gene Evans was having trouble breathing. He thought it was pneumonia. But a series of tests in January showed that it was emphysema, a serious, progressive lung disease.

He found the diagnosis frightening.

“I was apprehensive about what was going to happen and how I was going to work through it,” the 65-year-old said.

Gene Evans was a participant in the pulmonary rehab program at Methodist Hospital and both were featured in the August issue of LiveWell Magazine.
