Anne Boatright, RN, SANE Coordinator for the SANE/SART Sexual Assault and Domestic Violence Program available at both Methodist Hospital campuses, was honored at a recognition ceremony on Tuesday, March 17, as the March DAISY Award winner for Methodist Hospital and Methodist Women's Hospital.

She was nominated for the honor by a fellow employee, who praised Anne for "the genuine nonjudgemental concern" she has for survivors of sexual assault and domestic abuse.

Speaking from personal experience gained as a colleague and as a family member of a patient involved in a domestic violence relationship, the nominator described Anne as someone who truly "speaks from the heart," saying, "I cannot tell you how professional, caring and informative Anne is."

The nominator emphasized that "Anne truly exemplifies everything that is deserving of the DAISY Award," including clinical excellence, patient-centered care, teamwork, professionalism, kindness and compassion -- to patients and family alike.

The DAISY Award is a nationwide program that rewards and celebrates extraordinary skill and compassionate care given by nurses every day. Nurses can be nominated by anyone, including patients, family members, physicians, supervisors or their peers.
