Babysitting Basics Class Registration Now Underway

Registration for Babysitting Basics, a program presented by the Methodist Women's Hospital childbirth education team, is now open.

Babysitting Basics class is for youths 11 and older who are preparing to begin a babysitting career.

This four-hour training will offer the necessary safety knowledge and skills for youth babysitters
to care for infants and children responsibly:

  • Basic child care will be demonstrated and practiced, including handwashing, feeding, diapering and calming techniques.  

  • Included is Family and Friends CPR (non-certificate), which offers lifesaving skills and education in a group environment. 

  • Participants will also learn babysitting etiquette and fun activities to keep children engaged and entertained.

Space is limited. Classes fill quickly.

Dates:   Friday, June 14
              Friday, June 21
              Friday, June 28
              Friday, July 19

Time: 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
A light morning snack is included

Location: Women’s Medical Office Building, 717 N. 190th Plaza, 2nd floor conference area

  • Open to: Students age 11 and older
  • Class size: Limited to 16 students 
  • Cost of class to participant: $55

Go to the MHS online event calendar at www.bestcare.org/calendar. If using the optional "Filter Events By" drop-down, choose "Birth & New Baby Education." Select the desired class date. Check to be sure openings remain, then follow the registration instructions.
