Rewards for Your $$$ - Saving Suggestions
Methodist's Sensible Savings rewards program was established in 2012 to assist our Value Analysis Teams (VAT) in identifying savings and improve cost efficiency without sacrificing patient safety, the patient experience and quality outcomes.
Over the past six years, 238 employees have earned rewards by submitting 318 viable non-labor cost savings suggestions to the Sensible Savings Rewards program. Those suggestions have helped us save more than $1.2 million.
We know there are more great ideas out there, and we want to encourage you to share your Sensible Savings suggestions. We want your viable non-labor cost savings suggestions. This means ideas that are workable, measurable and sustainable — but do not require cuts in jobs or hours.
Individual Awards: $5 Cafeteria Coupon
Every employee who submits a suggestion that is deemed valid and reasonable by the Value Analysis Department will receive a $5 Methodist cafeteria coupon (or a $5 gift card if there is no on-site cafeteria at the employee’s location).
Monthly Prize Drawing: Special Parking, $25 Bonus
Employees from cost centers 125, 200 and 310 (Methodist Hospital, Methodist Women's Hospital and Methodist Jennie Edmundson Hospital) will be entered in a monthly prize drawing to win an identified parking spot in the employee lot for one month. Each parking spot will be marked with a sign containing the Sensible Savings Tree and the words “Reserved Sensible Savings.”
Employees from other cost centers will receive a $25 bonus in their paychecks.
Quarterly Prize Drawing: Apple Watch
All employees who submit valid and reasonable ideas will be entered in a quarterly drawing for an Apple Watch (or equivalent Android device).
All full-time and part-time employees and contract workers — Service Leader and below — are eligible for individual $5 rewards and prize drawings.
