Updates to American Heart Association Classes

The American Heart Association, in conjunction with Nebraska Methodist College, is announcing the addition of new classes for certified or noncertified, licensed or nonlicensed health care professionals who provide health care to patients in a wide variety of settings, including in-hospital and out-of-hospital.

CPR Classes in Spanish

Family and friends CPR will be offered in Spanish once a month at Methodist Jennie Edmundson Hospital. This class is ideal for new parents and caregivers with the focus of the class being on CPR for children and infants. The class also covers what to do when a child or infant is choking. The lecture, videos and take home book are all in Spanish. The next available classes will take place at 9 a.m. on Oct. 6 and Nov. 10 in Room 2HA.

ACLS Skill Assessment

If someone is in need of renewing their ACLS card and would like the convenience of a hybrid class, we now offer an ACLS skill assessment. The purpose of this course is to educate healthcare personnel working with adults on the risks, strategies and skills necessary to handle cardiopulmonary emergencies. Classes will be held at Nebraska Methodist College Josie Harper Campus. There is a fee associated with this class.
