Methodist Time Capsule Items on Display May 2-13
Two display cases located inside Methodist Hospital Café 8303 are now showcasing items from Methodist history.
Inside the cases you will find historic items discovered inside a time capsule hidden in the cornerstone of the Methodist Midtown Hospital on 36th and Cuming streets. Construction crews uncovered the capsule when the building was torn down last summer to make way for the Salvation Army's new Renaissance Village Campus.
Items now on display include:
- A historic photograph of Methodist Hospital
- News clippings from the era
- An Annual Report
- Assorted surgical instruments
- 1892 Methodist Episcopal Hospital and Deaconess Home Journal
- Assorted photographs
- Holy Bible
The display cases are located beneath the digital screens in the alcove of the old entrance (currently blocked off from the outside hall) near the tray return.The items are on display and available for viewing May 2 – 13.
