April is Sexual Assault Awareness Month

Methodist Health System, home to the Heidi Wilke SANE/SART Survivor Program, is supporting Sexual Assault Awareness Month.

Sexual Assault Twitter Chat: Noon, Thursday April 26

To increase awareness, education and preventive measures regarding sexual assault, domestic violence and human trafficking, Methodist is hosting a Twitter Chat on Thursday, April 26. Join the discussion on Twitter at noon using hashtag @NoMore.

Methodist SANE nurses and team members from Survivors Rising, law enforcement, UNO, the Women’s Center for Advancement and other community partners will discuss topics including sexual assault, domestic violence and human trafficking, including consent, educational information, community support and resources.

Heidi Wilke SANE/SART Survivor Program

Care for survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault and human trafficking is available at the emergency departments at both Methodist Hospital and Methodist Women’s Hospital throughout the Heidi Wilke SANE/SART Survivor Program.

Since the Heidi Wilke SANE/SART Survivor Program started in 2003, we have provided specialized services to more than 1,300 victims of sexual assault, many under 25 years of age.
The emergency department at Methodist Jennie Edmundson Hospital also has trained Sexual Assault Nurse Examiners on call 24/7.
