Over the next couple of weeks, NMHS IT will be deploying a new button to the Microsoft Outlook and Microsoft Outlook Web Access systems. In an effort to simplify reporting of potential “Phishing” emails, a “Report Phish” button will appear on the menu bar.

The button will look like this:

When you press this button, the suspected email will be forwarded to the IT Security Team where it will be reviewed for malicious links and potential harm to NMHS. The IT Security Team will notify the user of the outcome of the email that was forwarded.

As we prepare to deploy this, a couple of questions have been asked and we want to answer them in advance.

Q:  What happens if the email is legitimate and I need it back?
A:  The IT Security team can send the email back to you if it is legitimate and not malicious.

Q:  Will this button appear in Outlook Web Access?
A:  Yes, it will appear in Outlook Web Access

Q: What happens to the email that was in my Inbox?
?
A:  A copy is sent to the IT Security Team and the original is removed from your mailbox

If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to reach out to the Service Desk at 4-2280.
