2018 Nurse Excellence Award Nomination Deadline: Feb. 23

It’s Nurse Excellence nomination time.

Who can nominate a nurse?

Any Methodist employee.

Which nurses are eligible for the Nurse Excellence Award program?

Nurses employed at Methodist Hospital, Methodist Women’s Hospital, Methodist Jennie Edmondson Hospital or MHS hospital-based clinics can be nominated to receive this recognition. Nominees must be in good standing with Methodist Health System and have no corrective action issues. In addition, nurses are only eligible if they have not received the award within the past 5 years.

What qualities must nominees exemplify?

Nurse Excellence Awards are given annually to registered nurses for their participation in the advancement and practice of nursing. Nominees must exemplify day-to-day demonstration of the Core Values of our organization:  

• Patient Focus

• Honor and Respect

• Excellence and Teamwork

• Service to Community

What are the nomination categories?

You many nominate one nurse in each category:

• Nurse Excellence Award: Nurse Leader
  Given annually to a Service Leader for participation in the support and advancement of nursing practice.

• Nurse Excellence Award: Clinical Nurse
  Given annually to registered nurses for their participation in the advancement and practice of nursing.

• Nurse Excellence Award: Advanced Practice Nurse
  Given annually to a Clinical Nurse Educator or APRN (CNS, NP, Nurse Midwife, Nurse Anesthetist) for participation in the support and advancement of nursing practice.

Deadline?

Nominations are due by February 23, 2018. 

Location of online nomination forms?

All Nurse Excellence nomination are on mhsIntranet under Just for Nurses/ Nurse Excellence Nominations. A link to the nominations will also be placed under “Announcements” on the mhsIntranet. 

The forms will be submitted electronically to the nominee’s respective Supervisor/Service Leader/Manager for approval and then will be forwarded to the Magnet Program Director to collect. Scoring will be determined by a subgroup of the Professional Development Council.
